Create a targeting

A targeting tells your campaign who to contact. You create one when you set up a new campaign, and can edit it any time from the campaign's Targeting tab.

Fields

  • Targeting name: for your own use only, it doesn't affect which prospects are found. Pick a name that describes the audience, so you and your colleagues can recognize it if you share the targeting.
  • Location: cities or countries, in English. This is where the person is based, not where the company's headquarters is. A company with headquarters in Sweden can have a marketing manager in Finland.
  • Position: the job titles you want to reach, such as "Head of Sales" or "CEO". Press Enter after each title. Add as many variations as you can, in every relevant language (if you target Sweden, include Swedish titles too). Use the suggestions under the field to find more.
  • Industries: leave empty to include all industries. We recommend starting broad and narrowing down if you see too many irrelevant prospects.
  • Excluded industries: industries to skip, for example your own, to avoid contacting competitors.
  • Head counts: company sizes. All sizes are selected by default; click the x on any size you don't want.

Tip: the list fields have Select all and Deselect all links. To exclude just a few industries, it's often easiest to leave Industries empty and add those few under Excluded industries.

When you're done, click Continue to emails to write your sequence.
